Project Overview
Officepace’s Newcastle showroom is the second space Inscape have designed and constructed for the team in NSW. The 160m2 space may be compact but it packs a punch. The strategically planned layout includes a variety of different zones segmented by the personality of the finishes and fittings within it. The intent was to showcase the company’s high-quality and versatile furniture solutions whilst creating an environment conducive of the brand fashioning an Officepace ‘look’ across their showrooms Australia-wide.
Throughout the multi-layered space the polished concrete flooring and exposed brick walls shout rugged industrial but are softened by the variety in colour and texture of the furniture, the painted mural and the addition of softer styles in each of the zones. The open entryway is a prime example with the branded noise absorbing panelling accented by sheer drapery and soft hues in the furnishings.
The kitchen and breakout area is a nod to French provincial style paired with the overarching industrial vibe of the showroom. The cupboard panelling in neutral grey tones is a cosy and ornate feature of the space, contrasted by the roughed concrete benchtops with a rugged matt surface finish. The organic musk and fern hues of the ceramic splashback tiles bridge the gap between the two distinct design styles adding an abundance of character to the space.
Behind rustic barn doors on exposed tracking, the concrete benchtops, neutral grey tones and design intent in the kitchen space are continued through into the luxury bathrooms. Whilst the rustic, luxury countryside vibe is carried through the space by the handpainted mural adorning the walls in half the space. The prominent piece, masterminded by a local artist, depicts the natural native landscape of the surrounding area in warm autumnal tones.
The vibrant colours seen in the painted mural are continued in the office setting zone in the red coral textured carpet, natural timbers in the furniture pieces and the burnt red hand railing. Statement round warm LED pendant lighting in an antique brass finish play on the curvature of the artwork and brings the space together.
The design intent behind this space is all a subtle nod to the versatility of Officepace’s offerings. Filled with integrated technology, an abundance of natural light and sleek commercial furniture, it would be near impossible to wander passed the floor to ceiling windows in this space without taking a peek inside.
